As summer comes to an end and back-to-school season begins, it can be hard to get back into a regular schedule — for both kids and adults. 

Vacation mode is OFF so you have to prepare yourself and your kids for the new season.

Here are some tips and tricks that will help you, hopefully :)
Get a sleeping routine 

Your kids sleep schedule must be set for the back-to-school time at least one week before the first day of school. This will help you wake them up and at some point, they should wake-up at the set hour without any issues.Discipline is the key. They must be aware that they will have to go to bed earlier and wake-up for school.

Refresh your rules about screen time for the school year. What's allowed and when?

It's much more better to start this at least one or two weeks before school begins. Your kids will get used to the new schedule and they won't get very angry when school starts and they won't be able to focus on their summer activities.

Get the lists of school supplies, books and technology your kids will need.

If you haven't started already, now it's the time! First the list, than the shopping.Involve your kids in the back-to-school list activity and let them choose what they like, if you don't agree, try to focus on other things and at the end explain your kids why the option that you chose is better.

Have your kids set realistic goals, such as reading 30 books.

You can set a time or a day of the week when you make a family reading time, so they won't ask why you don't read anything. After each session, ask your kids about the book and make sure you help them want to read more.

Model good behavior by doing your own work/projects while your kids do homework.

We all know that kids do what they see you do. So it's the perfect time for you to take care of your projects while they do homework.

Create a list and budget for back-to-school shopping, including clothes, backpacks, books and so on.


You may have to buy many things, but if the budget is limites, make sure you get what it's really important at the beginning. You will have time to buy more clothes and some school accessories.

Buy reusable sports bottles to increase their water consumption during the day.

There are so many types out there, just make sure your kid likes the color and the most important thing, it's easy to open and close.

Set at least one day a week when you have time for yourself.

 It's very important for moms to be ready for the back-to-school season that can be pretty stresfull. So pick a day, maybe a day when your kids are doing some after school activities and do something for you.A face scrub, do your nails, watch a movie, go out with friends or get you something new.

    With all this preparation, your kids will be in great shape. If you're relaxed and calm, they'll head off to school feeling excited and ready to get to work.
